Ontario is, unfortunately, will face many challenges in the near future in combating drug addiction, and making sure that the great residents of Ontario we all know and love have the services they need to handle substance abuse. Ontario is a beacon of prosperity, hope and opportunity for not only millions of Canadians, but for many beautiful cultures worldwide, but an addiction to drugs can affect anyone, so it is important to us at Searidge Foundation to offer a welcoming hand to our neighbours in Ontario. Despite the prosperity, fundamental importance and diverse people that make up the remarkable province of Ontario, many struggle every day with an addiction to drugs. It could be prescription painkillers, cocaine or something more dangerous, but Searidge Foundation is prepared. Our approach to treatment is different, and it works. We take into account nearly every aspect of a client’s life that they believe is important, and design a customized treatment strategy for them. Our residence is historic, ideally located, near to local farms where many of our meals come from and is very well maintained. Each and every client has access to not only first rate addiction treatment, but also a gym, healthy meals, the outdoors and plenty of fun activities during their stay.

Approaching substance abuse and addiction is not precise, mainly because everyone experiences addiction differently. The physical symptoms and signs may be easy to pin down, but the psychological and even existential issues can be difficult to unravel. The way Searidge Foundation tackles these unique challenges is to incorporate not only proven cognitive therapy, but also to put a healthy focus on holistic practices, overall health and spirituality. Yoga, meditation, exercise, diet and spiritual groups are just some of the tools we use in our non judgemental, caring approach to addiction treatment.

SMART RECOVERY MEETING INFO HELP AT SEARIDGE DRUG REHAB FOR RESIDENTS FROM ONTARIO

SMART Recovery is an abstinence-based, not-for-profit organization with a sensible self-help program for people having problems with using and drinking. It includes many ideas and techniques to help you change your life from one that is self-destructive and unhappy to one that is constructive and satisfying. SMART Recovery is not a spin-off of Alcoholics Anonymous. No one will label you an “alcoholic”, an “addict” or “diseased” nor “powerless”, and if you do not believe in a religion or spirituality, that’s fine, too. We teach common sense self-help procedures designed to empower you to abstain and to develop a more positive lifestyle. When you succeed at following our approach, you may graduate from the program, or you may stay around to help others. Searidge Drug Rehab offers a variety of aftercare programs to those from Ontario that are attending Searidge Drug Rehab and was created to help ensure their sobriety is maintained and that the client is successful in their recovery. SMART recovery group meetings have proven to be incredibly beneficial to our Searidge alumni, one-on-one counseling, and group therapy are others that make up the comprehensive aftercare program offered in Nova Scotia. Our clients that have traveled here from Ontario may find that the over the phone meetings offered to alumni may be the most logical and cost effective way to utilize the tools and support channels we offer in order to help them maintain a drug free life.

A huge benefit of the SMART recovery program that Searidge Drug Rehab offers is how we actively stay in touch with our clients. We are committed to our alumni at Searidge and provide them with Aftercare well past their graduation. We make sure to construct a plan that will work with their specific needs, current responsibilities and geographical location. Searidge Drug Rehab Aftercare Program offers alumni unlimited access to private NNG forums for alumni to stay in touch with each other, they can receive inspirational Twitter messages if they would like, you would have the option to participate in refresher weekends at Searidge as well, if you are able to attend. There are also group or individual therapy sessions over the phone with staff from Searidge. And of course, virtual or in-person SMART Recovery meetings. The virtual and over the phone sessions with Searidge staff are especially beneficial to those who are returning home to Ontario.
