“The Portage Residential Centre in New Brunswick is made for people aged between 14 and 21 years old. When a person enters the centre, first they get evaluated and assessed in order to determine the right course of action. Then they go through the program to get over their alcohol or drug addiction. Family support is also included in the program itself. Afterwards, there is an aftercare plan for the addicts so that we can make sure they are really done with their addiction and have a stable life.”

Teen Challenge is a 12-month, faith-based, residential alcohol and drug addiction rehabilitation program with centres located across Canada. Located in a renovated monastery on 18 acres of meadow, forest and landscaped gardens, Teen Challenge Atlantic has the capacity for 17 adult men. In this serene location, Teen Challenge students participate in a program that equips them to overcome their addictions so that they can return to their families and society.

“The Tobique First Nation Addiction Rehab Centre provides three areas of programs for individuals and families to discover and understand ways to achieve a more satisfying way of life for themselves and for others. SMART Recovery is not a spin-off of Alcoholics Anonymous. No one will label you an “alcoholic”, an “addict” or “diseased” nor “powerless”, and if you do not believe in a religion or spirituality, that’s fine, too. We teach common sense self-help procedures designed to empower you to abstain and to develop a more positive lifestyle. When you succeed at following our approach, you may graduate from the program, or you may stay around to help others.”
Searidge Drug Rehab offers a variety of aftercare programs to those seeking a New Brunswick addiction treatment centre. SMART recovery group meetings have proven to be incredibly beneficial to our Searidge alumni, one-on-one counseling, and group therapy are others that make up the comprehensive aftercare program offered in Nova Scotia. Our clients that have traveled here from New Brunswick may find that the over the phone meetings offered to alumni may be the most logical and cost effective way to utilize the tools and support channels we offer in order to help them maintain a drug free life.
A huge benefit of the SMART recovery program that Searidge Drug Rehab offers is how we actively stay in touch with our clients. We are committed to our alumni at Searidge and provide them with Aftercare well past their graduation. We make sure to construct a plan that will work with their specific needs, current responsibilities and geographical location.
Searidge’s New Brunswick drug addiction treatment’s aftercare program offers alumni unlimited access to private NNG forums for alumni to stay in touch with each other, they can receive inspirational Twitter messages if they would like, you would have the option to participate in refresher weekends at Searidge as well, if you are able to attend. There are also group or individual therapy sessions over the phone with staff from Searidge. And of course, virtual or in-person SMART Recovery meetings. The virtual and over the phone sessions with Searidge staff are especially beneficial to those who are returning home to New Brunswick.
